JV with Sinar Holdings

Over the last couple of years, Sinar Holdings Sdn Bhd (Sinar Holdings) has been very active in promoting Korean tourists to Brunei including special packages e.g. Korean golfers and honeymooners. Starting from a chartered flight, this initiative has transformed this particular package into a more popular destination for the Koreans, which now has been converted into a regular 3-day week flight between Seoul and BSB. Thousands of Koreans have landed and enjoyed the Brunei package, with few repeat travellers. Related to these trips, new activities have bloomed including setting up of the new Korean F&B outlets to provide popular Korean delicacies, promoting Brunei as education hub through Jerudong International School (JIS) & International School Brunei (JIS), golf academy, detox, well-being retreat package and culture & heritage villages in Kg Ayer and other eco-tourism packages. A potential resort is being planned in Temburong with an interest from a major firm in Korea. A marina and resort are two related tourism initiatives which are being planned which MH is interested to participate with Sinar Holdings. These initiatives have opened up business as well as employment opportunities for the SMEs and the unemployed youths respectively. .
